Authorities Identify Passenger Killed In A Head-On Collision In Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A three vehicle head-on collision that killed a 65 year old, resident of Lucerne Valley. She was the passenger in the Subaru that hit the red semi and another car on Bear Valley Road.

California Highway Patrol and Apple Valley Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving three vehicles. The crash took place at about 12:46pm Wednesday August 17, 2022. The location was on Bear Valley Rd near Tujunga Drive. 

The vehicles involved were a red Robertson’s double-trailer, a silver Subaru Forester, and a black Mazda 3 sedan.

Rescue crews arrived and found four patients and one deceased at the scene. They requested two medical helicopters to transport two victims. The driver of the Robertson’s truck was extricated and transported by Mercy Air #22 at the scene to Loma Linda University Medical Center in stable condition. The driver of the Subaru was transported by CHP #82 helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Two other were transported by ambulance to a local hospital in unknown conditions.

Heather Cooper, age 65, a resident of Lucerne Valley was the passenger of the Subaru who was deceased at the scene.
