Car Fire Sparked A Small Brush Fire In The Cajon Pass Thursday Morning

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Firefighter extinguished a car fire on northbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Thursday morning.

California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and San Bernardino National Forest firefighters were getting calls of a vehicle on fire on northbound Interstate 15 on the right shoulder just after Highway 138 exit. The car fire was reported at about 10:04am Thursday November 3, 2022, with flames coming from the engine compartment and front seat area.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene to work on getting the vehicle fire put out. Nearby brush did catch fire with the help of gusty winds. They had to temporarily shut down the #4 and the slow lane. The vehicle was reported to be a white Jaguar sedan.

The driver did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. It was reported a man with a baby were standing near the vehicle. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
