VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A woman is behind bars after allegedly crashing into a man who was changing a tire on Interstate 15 and killing him Monday night, both have been identified.
California Highway Patrol and firefighters from Victorville Fire Department responded to the traffic crash. It was reported at about 7:10pm, Monday February 6, 2023. The collision location was on northbound I-15 at the end of Palmdale Road onramp.
The coroner’s office has identified the driver that was changing his tire on a white GMC Sierra pickup truck as Miguel Hernandez Valadez, 38 year-old, resident of Long Beach.
California Highway Patrol has identified the DUI driver has Jennifer Renae Morgan, 46 year-old, resident of Victorville. She is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The preliminary investigation revealed Miguel Valadez had an issue with his tire. He moved to the right shoulder and parked his truck under the Palmdale Road overpass before 7pm.
At about 7:10pm Jennifer Morgan, was driving her black Chevrolet Cruze sedan on northbound I-15. She lost control or veered into the path of Miguel Valadez while he was changing his tire on his pickup. She hit him on the passenger side of the truck. When the car came to a stop. CHP said he was trapped underneath her vehicle when CHP arrived on scene.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived on scene. Minutes later rescue crews said Miguel Valadez succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision.
