The fatal collision happened Wednesday afternoon about 1:18pm on Cajon Boulevard, near Keenbrook Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Jessica Ramirez was driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Accent northbound when she crossed over double-yellow lines and went into the southbound lanes. She then lost control and rear-ended a 2015 Toyota before colliding head-on with Kevin O’Brien’s white Dodge pickup truck.
As a result, Jessica L. Ramirez 33 years-old resident Helendale and Kevin C. O’Brien 65-year-old resident San Marcos both were killed at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota did suffered only minor injuries.
Ramirez family has created a GoFundMe to help with immediate funeral expenses and any funds remaining will be used towards future expenses and for her daughter that she lives behind.
O’Brien is survived by his children, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. Details regarding the services to celebrate his life will be shared at a later date.
