VICTORVILLLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Firefighters from Victorville successfully contained and extinguished a vegetation fire that broke out in the Mojave River bottom Tuesday night. (Photo above is credit by Stacy Ford).
Crews with the Victorville City, CAL FIRE, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to reports of the Mojave Fire, located 16888 E Steet next to the CEMEX Cement Plant, at 10:36pm June 20, 2023, authorities said.
The picture above showed bright orange flames and smoke as the blaze burned through heavy thick brush.
By about 11:38pm, the fire had spread to about 6 acres, with multiple spot fires. Fire crews were able to have about 50% containment line around the fire
At 1:12pm Wednesday afternoon the fire was fully contained.
No evacuations were ordered and no damage or injuries were reported.
