BIG BEAR, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The Southern California Weather Force has issued a Weather Advisory effective this afternoon/evening for the Eastern San Bernardino Mountains, Big Bear area, Lucerne Valley, and could move over to Stateline/Las Vegas area of Interstate 15.
A weather advisory means that conditions are favorable for a chance of rain showers or thunderstorms for the mountains and the desert area today. This will work with heating of the day and convergence over the Eastern San Bernardino County Mountains around Big Bear this afternoon. A thunderstorm watch or warning may be issued for parts of the county. Check back for a update if thing change fast.
A pop-up isolated thunderstorm is possible in and around Southern California, with outflow going north through Lucerne and meeting up near Barstow this evening for another chance of a pop-up storm. There is a threat of dry lightning due to the limited of rainfall is expected from these storms, in which could start new wildfires.

Remember lightning can happen ANYWHERE! So when thunder roars, go indoors! It’s the only safe place when lightning strikes. Also remember if you encounter a flooded roadway turn around, don’t drown.
