3 California Freeways made the Top List of ‘America’s Most Loathed Highways’ the Cajon Pass I-15 did not make the List

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Perhaps not surprisingly for a state that seems synonymous with vehicles, California freeways and contains the Top 3 Most Loathed (Dislike) interstates, highways according to Vehicle dealer Gunther Volvo Cars Daytona Beach. Surprising I-15 is not one of them on the list.

Recently, the folks at Gunther Volvo Cars of Daytona Beach surveyed 3,000 drivers in October 2023, to finally determine the most loathed interstates, highways, and freeways in the country. By the way, “loathe” is pretty much a fancy word for “hate”.

Perhaps not surprisingly for a state that seems synonymous with cars and trucks travailing, California contains the Top 3 Most Loathed Interstates, according to the survey. Here we go with the Top 5 Most Loathed Interstates in America below:

  1. US-101, California
  2. I-5, California
  3. I-405 (San Diego Freeway), California
  4. I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike), Pennsylvania
  5. I-70, Colorado

No San Bernardino County roadways made the top 5, or the top 100 list. Let me tell you, the Cajon Pass gets a lot of complaints, but it’s not that bad. Trust me, I’ve traveled in a lot of states and I’ve traveled many roads and I can say that the I-15 is a cakewalk compared to some other stretches of roads out there.

Interstate 15 is well-known for its heavy weekend/Holiday traffic, especially during rush hours.

The full list of “most loathed highways in America,” based on these survey findings, can be viewed here.

Buckle up and have a positive attitude when taking to the freeways in Southern California, you may be there awhile.
