Police Arrested more People Burglarizing a Freight Train in the Cajon Pass

HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested more people for trying to steal from a freight train in the Cajon Pass Wednesday afternoon. (Photo above is credit by Roberto A Loera Lizarde)

Sheriff’s Department said this makes the third time, under three weeks people were arrested for burglarizing freight cars. This latest incident unfolded around 12:30pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2024, when Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted to a robbery involving a stationary train near Interstate 15 and Highway 138.

Upon arriving in the area, they spotted several subjects at the train tracks where a train was stopped,” stated sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. When approached by the authorities, the individuals fled the scene in different directions.

With help by a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s helicopter and K9’s dogs, they location everybody and were all arrested.

Due to the ongoing investigation, deputies said they won’t reveal how many people were arrested during this train burglary. They only said several people were booked on numerous felony charges.

If you see or suspect a burglary train cars please call 911 and give the location of the train and if its moving or stopped.
