LAPD and CHP Officers Chase Shooting Suspect from LA to the Cajon Pass

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Los Angeles Police Department and the California Highway Patrol officers were in a chase of a shooting suspect from South Los Angeles to the Cajon Pass late Saturday night.

The shooting occurred at about 10:25pm. Saturday July 13, 2024, on 66th Street, west of Flower Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

One of the four shooting suspect was shot and killed by a police officer in South LA Saturday and three other suspects jump in a Cadillac sedan. LAPD began the pursuit.

The suspects jump on Interstate 10 where they could be seen driving up to 120 miles per hour as they went across Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. At times they could be seen as they were driving dangerously by switching lanes as they continue to flee from police and CHP with no headlights on.

At around 11pm the suspect got onto northbound lanes of I-15 in Ontario, which heads directly towards the Cajon Pass where the suspect stop on the right shoulder. The pursuit end about two miles south of the Oak Hill Road exit.

Three people inside the suspect vehicle were all eventually detained, CHP said.

CHP issue a SIG Alert for all northbound lanes, resulting in motorists being at a standstill between one to two hours for the investigation and a gun reported being thrown from the vehicle.

No further details on the person who died or those who were detained were immediately released.
