Small Overnight Brush Fire in the Cajon Pass Quickly Extinguished

Around 12:35am Saturday August 17, 2024, firefighters received reports of a brush fire off of southbound Interstate 15 and Cajon Boulevard near the Cleghorn Road exit.

“It was a two-acre fire,” said units from Cal Fire, and known as the “Pioneer Fire.”

The fire was out within an hour and a hour for the mop-up operation, according to officials.

No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
