Nuna issued a voluntary recall over 600,000 car seats manufactured before Oct. 25, 2023, because dirt can build up within front harness adjuster so that it can not be tightened all the way. A loose harness may be dangerous because the child would not be completely restrained and could be injured in a crash.
Nuna is offering a new seat pad and cleaning kit so that the harness adjuster can be kept completely clean and working properly.
The recall impacts dozens of models and colors of Nuna RAVAs manufactured between July 16, 2016 and October 25, 2023.
Customers who registered their car seat and have an effected model will get a letter from the company notifying them of the recall and how they can get the replacement seat pad and cleaning kit. Customers can also register for the recall online.
Nuna, a high-end company that also makes strollers and other baby gear, described the voluntary recall as a “proactive step.” There have been no injuries or fatalities reported in connection with the issue, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said of the 608,786 recalled car seats.
