The King of the Hammers is an off-road race that combines desert racing and rock crawling. This race is held on Means Dry Lake in Johnson Valley, near Yucca Valley.
Nicknamed “Hammertown” is a pop-up town in the middle of the desert with roughly 400 teams and 80,000+ spectators will attend the three-week desert races.
Expect traffic on Bear Valley Road towards Highway 18 Lucerne Valley on Fridays, Saturday, and Sundays. The coming back to I-15 Freeway at night.

Thursday January 30, Pre-running OPEN and the weather will be Sunny, and windy with a high of 61° and the low of 33°.
Friday January 31, Desert Off-Road Course pre-run and Qualifying and the weather will be Partly Sunny, and windy with a high of 61° and the low of 42°.
Saturday February 1, XRock Extreme Rock Crawling and Desert Off-Road Racing and the weather will be Partly Sunny, and windy and a high of 70° and the low of 45°.
Sunday Feb 2, Unlimited Off-Road Racing and the weather will be Sunny, and windy, with a high of 74° and the low of 46°.
