The so-called Sheep Fire, which has burned about 5 acres total, began burning sometime about 2:41pm on March 9, 2025, next to Sheep Creek Road and Del Rosa Rd. in Phelan.

San Bernardino County Fire said, the spot fires were on side of Sheep Creek about a mile long distance with a moderate rate of spread.

Structures were threatened, and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, according to the fire department.

The fire was approximately 5 to 6 acres altogether, spread out over a mile long down the street.

Firefighters were still working in the area performing “mop-up” on the affected areas of Sheep Creek Road, according to officials.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but they are reporting to be arson.
