Car looks to be Deliberately set on Fire in the Cajon Pass early Monday Morning

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A concerned citizen helped first responders stop a potential huge brush fire in the Cajon Pass off of southbound Interstate 15 Monday morning.

The fire was reported just before 12:30am on Monday April 14, 2025.

California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire, CAL Fire, and San Bernardino National Forest firefighters were on scene of a fire in the hills between the 15 Freeway and Cajon Boulevard old Route 66.

When firefighter was on scene they found a vehicle on fire, that spread to the nearby brush.

About 1am fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze under ¼ acre burned.

CHP said, the vehicle didn’t come off the freeway. They said it’s believed it was deliberately lit and dumped on the dirt road.

There was nobody found in or near the vehicle stated on the CHP Traffic Log.

At this time not confirmed the vehicle was stolen at this time.

This remains a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
