VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The Victorville California Highway Patrol office recently received a new incognito Specially Marked Patrol Vehicles.
The CHP announced earlier this month they will deployment of new Incognito “low-profile, specially marked patrol vehicles” aimed at cracking down on what officials called “video game-styled driving.”
“The new vehicles gives our officers an important advantage,” said CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee. “They will allow us to identify and stop drivers who are putting others at risk, while still showing a professional and visible presence once enforcement action is needed.”
CHP said 100 Dodge Durangos SUVs will be added to their fleet of Dodge Chargers sedans and Ford Explorers SUVs, as they blend into traffic enough to observe dangerous driving without being detected immediately.
The main reason with these vehicles is to combat dangerous, high speed, and reckless driving throughout the High Desert and on Interstate 15. These will not be replacing our normal black and white patrol vehicles but are an extra tool for officers to use to make our roads a safer place
“Our goal remains the same: reduce injuries, prevent fatalities, and restore a sense of safety on California’s roadways,” said CHP officials. We urge all drivers to obey speed limits, avoid aggressive behavior, and share the road responsibly.”
