Semi Driver ID in a Rollover Crash on I-40 last Month

NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Coroner Office reported that a Wildomar man was killed in a semi-truck crash on Interstate 40.

The California Highway Patrol states that white semi, driven by a 63-year-old man, was headed eastbound on I-40 about 3 miles away from Hector Road. That’s between the town of Newberry Springs and Ludlow about 8:51pm on May 29, 2025.

San Bernardino County Fire Recuse was called to the scene and said, the driver and a passenger were pinned in the cab of the truck. They said, sadly the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. They extricated the passenger that was also trapped in the cab of the truck. The passenger was transported by a medical helicopter that landed at the scene to a nearby hospital.

The driver has been ID as Juan Antonio Bernal, 63-year-old resident of Huntington Park

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
