Big Rig Semi Catches Fire On Interstate 15 In Barstow

BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A big rig semi caught fire, temporarily blocked two lanes on Interstate 15 in Barstow Friday morning.

California Highway Patrol and Barstow Fire Department were getting calls of a vehicle on fire southbound 15 at L Street about 12:08am February 12, 2021.

CHP and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down all but one lane while they worked on getting the cab extinguished.

The #2 lane reopened around 2am., according to the CHP traffic log.

the #3 and 4 lane was reopened around 3am, according to the CHP traffic log.

The driver did escape the vehicle before the cab became fully engulfed.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

The cause of the big rig fire is unknown at this time.

I was unknown what the trailer was reported to be loaded, according to the CHP traffic log.
