KRAMER JUNCTION, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> BNSF Railway investigators are trying to determine what led to a train derailment just west of Kramer Junction on Thursday morning.
Approximately 30 rail cars derailed off of the tracks. Adjacent Highway 58 near Mile Maker 10 in the town of Kramer Junction, an unincorporated desert community in San Bernardino County off of Hwy 395. The derailment was reported Thursday morning just after 6am on April 22, 2021.
BNSF said there were no injuries as a result of the derailment. They also said the train was moving a variety of shipping containers with hazardous materials inside. There was no HazMat that spilled or any highway closure at that time. It’s not clear how long it’ll take to clear the scene.
The cause of the derailment is still under investigation by BNSF.
