Jackknifed Big Rig Creates Traffic Havoc In The Cajon Pass Thursday Night

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A jackknifed big rig was disrupting traffic in the Cajon Pass late Thursday night.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a crash. It was reported on southbound Interstate 15 about a mile before the Highway 138 exit. The crash happened at about 10:29pm Thursday on April 29, 2021.

The crash had traffic down to just the left shoulder partly the fast lane for about an hour. The semi was removed from the highway around 11:30pm and all lanes were back open a few minutes later.

The vehicles involved in the crash were a big rig semi which jacknifed, blocking half of #1 lane, and all of the #2, #3, and the #4 lanes. The other vehicle reported in the crash were a green pickup truck with no damage and may not have been involved.

All drivers did decline medical aid at the scene.

Traffic was backed up as far as Oak Hills Road. There are no other details released.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
