PRIMM, NV. (Pain In The Pass) >> The trailer of a big rig burned to the ground on Mother’s Day near Primm Nevada, closed northbound Interstate 15 for an hours.
California Highway Patrol, Nevada Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and Clark County firefighters were getting calls of a big rig trailer on fire just before 1:51pm, Sunday afternoon on May 9th, 2021. The big rig stop on the right shoulder of the freeway.
According to the CHP traffic logs, it was stated fire was coming from the rear breaks on the big rig trailer were on fire. The driver did escape the big rig before it became fully engulfed. The driver was able to release the semi from the trailer. There were reports of one person injured laying on the ground next to the semi. The cause of the big rig fire is unknown at this time.
CHP temporary blocked all lanes for hours due to the trailer debris. Only the left shoulder was open. Traffic was backup all the was before Nipton Road over 10 mile backup at one point.
