Rider Airlifted after Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 15

APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain in the Pass) >> A motorcyclist was involved in a crash Monday night.

The crash was reported about 7:55pm, Monday June 28, 2021. On Northbound Interstate 15, about a half mile before Stoddard Wells Road/Bell Mountain exit. California Highway Patrol and firefighters from Apple Valley Fire Department responded to the traffic accident. The motorcycle rider was laying down in traffic lanes and his blue custom chopper was on the shoulder of the Interstate.

Firefighters rendered aid to the injured motorcyclist. Then they requested a helicopter to transport the injured rider with unspecified injuries. The rider was transported by Mercy Air #2 from the scene to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The cause of this crash is unknown at this time.

Due to unknown circumstances, the motorcyclist lost control of his bike as stated on the CHP traffic log. CHP also temporarily closed lanes for the helicopter to land for about 20 minutes.

This crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Please check back for updates on this incident.
