CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pickup truck caught fire on southbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Friday morning.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters were getting calls of sliver Nissan Titan on fire. The vehicle was located southbound I-15 about two miles after Oak Hill Road exit. The pickup truck fire happened on Friday about 6:30am September 17, 2021. California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the slow lane while they worked on getting the vehicle fire put out.
Traffic backup quickly and firefighters had the fire out in about a half of a hour. Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time, but a witness stated the flames were inside the cab of the truck not the engine compartment.
