OAK HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >>The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office has identified the rider as Michael Console, a 32-year-old resident of Victorville, who was operating the motorcycle.
California Highway Patrol, Hesperia Police Department and members of the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene about 8:09pm. on October 28, 2021. The traffic collision was on Ranchero Road, east of the intersection of Kourie Way just before the train track. The vehicles involved in the crash were a silver Toyota Highlander and a black Harley Davidson Sportster.
Upon arrival, deputies determined there was a train crossing over Ranchero Road east of Kourie Way, causing eastbound traffic to back up toward the west. Prior to that evening a train was disabled and blocking the roadway for several hours. The train was able to move out of the way prior to the crash causing a traffic jam. Michael Console was riding his black 2000 Harley Davidson Sportster west on Ranchero Road after he made a U-turn due to the traffic delay. The driver of the 2021 Toyota Highlander, was also stopped in traffic east on Ranchero Road and in the process of making a U-turn to go west.
As the Toyota was completing the U-turn to go west on Ranchero, the motorcycle collided into the Toyota Highlander and left the roadway, which resulted in major injuries to Michael. Despite life saving measures, he was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency personnel. The driver of the Toyota did not sustain any injuries.
This incident will be under investigation by the Hesperia Police Department Office. They said additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
