CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Despite a blazing pickup truck fire just yards away from the truck scales in the Cajon Pass, California Highway Patrol couldn’t extinguish the flames late Friday morning.
California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and US Department of Forest Service firefighters were getting calls of a vehicle on fire on the right shoulder on Interstate 15 in front of the truck scales. The vehicle fire was reported about 11:53am Friday, March 25, 2022, with flames coming from the engine compartment.
When firefighters were on the scene to worked on getting the vehicle fire put out they also stop traffic in the #3 and the slow lane for less than a hour. The vehicle was reported to be a black Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
