CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The UPS driver who died when he was involved in a single vehicle incident with his semi-truck on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Saturday night has been identified.
The UPS driver, Brandon Hensley, a 40-year-old resident of Rockwall, Texas was traveling in his UPS semi tractor-trailer traveling northbound on Interstate 15 just after Cleghorn Road, in Cajon Pass about 8:17pm, Saturday June 11, 2022.
From what the CHP traffic log stated for unknown reasons the UPS semi driver lost control after being cut off by a passing vehicle or veered off then made contact to the right shoulder embankment. It is still under investigation on what the cause of the incident was.
Multiple witness stated in the Pain In The Pass Facebook Group the UPS driver jumped out of the moving semi prior to hitting the embankment. Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighters and CHP officials said Brandon was pronounced deceased at the scene in the center divider.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Inland Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
