Car Hits Parked Tow Truck On Southbound I-215 In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A crash between an older red Nissan Maxima sedan and a white tow truck. Tuesday morning on Interstate 215 at the 210 freeway interchange.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving a white Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) tow truck and a red Nissan Maxima sedan. The crash took place about 8:09am September 20, 2022 on southbound I-215 at the 210 freeway interchange. The crash blocked both lanes of the freeway. Traffic had to use the center divider to pass the crash scene.

According to CHP Traffic Log, the red Nissan was possibly speeding prior to the collision at high speeds. For unknow reasons this caused the Nissan to lose control, colliding into the back of the parked tow truck. The impact of the collision caused the Nissan to become disabled in the #1 lane and in the slow lane.

Rescue crews arrived on scene and reported they needed two ambulances at the scene. Both drivers were transported with minor injuries which was stated on the CHP traffic log. Both were transported by ground ambulances to a nearby hospital.
