Crews say they were called at just about 6:18pm. on October 6, 2022 and discovered heavy smoke and flame coming from multiple sides of the very large two-story house.

San Bernardino County Fire responded and crews worked from a defensive posture. Working to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent vegetation. The building was a 13,000 square foot, 35 bedroom with 13 bathrooms on 20 acre lot. The building was vacant at the time of the fire.

A second alarm was struck to bring additional firefighters & engines to the scene. San Bernardino County Fire responded with six engines and Apple Valley FD and Victorville City FD each assisted with some engines. No municipal water supply (fire hydrants) challenged crews as firefighters had to rely on a water shuttle operation to keep water flowing by water tenders. This hampered the fire suppression. Also there were energized downed power lines were also found on-scene and created a hazard for firefighters.

The building sustained heavy damage and is considered a total loss. The fire was brought under control after approximately 90 minutes.

Crews remained on scene for multiple hours working tp salivate, overhaul and for investigation. No firefighters or citizens were injured. The fire remains under investigation.
