HALLORAN SPRINGS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A man working on a disabled semi tractor-trailer was struck and killed by a semi tractor-trailer on northbound Interstate 15 Friday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 4:08am Friday January 27, 2023. The collision location was on northbound I-15 about a mile after Halloran Springs Road. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic collision.
The disabled semi tractor-trailer, was parked on the right shoulder of the freeway hauling about 43,000 pounds of glass. A mechanic was working underneath the semi, when the disabled semi was struck from behind. It was hit by a semi hauling paper products according to the CHP traffic log.
Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighter officials said the person working on the disabled semi was pronounced deceased at the scene. The person’s identity has not been released publicly at this time.
The semi driver that hit the disabled semi was reported to be in serious condition. No other injuries in the collision were reported.
