Did You See That? A Low Flying Small Airplane In The Cajon Pass Tuesday Afternoon

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Commuter may have notice a low-flying aircraft over Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Tuesday afternoon.

Social media commentators were abuzz Tuesday afternoon with everyone wondering about a low-flying small white plane over several communities. It then made an appearance in the Cajon Pass and ended landing at San Bernardino International Airport.

A Pain In The Pass Facebook Group member Kimberly Lee took a picture of the airplane just before 3pm that was later identified as a 1979 single engine Cessna 172N Skyhawk tail #N6409D.

Some suggested it was a California Highway Patrol aircraft. Others thought, jokingly, said it was related to the unidentified flying objects (spy balloons) that have been shot down.

It turns out the plane is owned by Sky Mentor Holdings LLC. from San Diego. The Cessna departed San Diego Montgomery Field Airport around 1pm Tuesday afternoon.

Still, the plane caught the attention of a lot people driving in the Cajon Pass, CHP included.
