KRAMER JUCTION, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal head-on collision crash near Kramer Junction in San Bernardino County on Sunday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and the Kern County Fire Department received calls of a collision on southbound Highway 395 about 14 miles north of Kramer Jct. The crash reportedly happened at about 1:46pm Sunday on March 5, 2023.
When rescue teams arrived, they located both vehicles with major damage to them and one fully involved on fire. Rescue crews requested at least one medical helicopter to land at the scene. When fire crews extinguished the flames, they located two people inside the car, which were pronounced deceased at the scene. Their identities were not immediately released.
The vehicles involved in the crash were reported on the CHP traffic log as a silver sedan with major front-end damage. The second vehicle was a maroon sedan with major front-end damage. Both vehicles were blocking the southbound lane. One of the vehicles was reported to be on fire.
Two people reportedly lost their lives inside the Nissan Juke, while one person was airlifted by Mercy Air #14 helicopter from the scene to Antelope Valley Medical Center in critical condition.
