Firefighters Make Quick Work Of Small Brush Fire Near Glen Helen Regional Park

DEVORE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Firefighters quickly control a small brush fire that broke out in next to Glen Helen Regional Park Sunday afternoon.

The Devore Incident was reported at about 1:11pm Sunday, April 30, 2023. The location of the fire was north of Glen Helen Regional Park San Bernardino County Fire Department, San Bernardino National Forest firefighters and CAL Fire firefighters were quickly on scene. The mild weather help the fire to not spread fast.

By 1:45pm the fire had forward progression stopped at about 1/4 acre burned. Firefighters will remain in the area for mop-up operations though the afternoon to make sure no hot spots flare up.

The freeway or the park was never affected by the flames or the smoke. It looks to be a homeless encampment in the area where the flames started. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
