ADELANTO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Firefighters handled a large brushfire in Sylmar Thursday afternoon. They were first called to the scene of the fire, burning near Cactus Road and Daisy Rd.
The fire was called the Mojave Fire at about 7:48 pm where a little over five acres were burning, posing a threat to a nearby residence, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department.
CAL FIRE crews were also called to assist the more than 50 SBCFD firefighters to defend structures in the area.
Fire crews managed to stop the forward progress of the fire at about 25 acres by 8:34pm with a heavy mop-up required .
No structures were damaged in the fire and no injuries were reported.
