ADELANTO, CA. (Pain In The Pass)>> Two people were killed and one person was airlifted to a trauma hospital after a violent head-on crash on Highway 395 in Adelanto, official said. (Photo above is credit by Tori Starr)
Officials with the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Victor Valley Station said the crash happened on Friday, October 13, 2023, at approximately 8:19pm, when they received a call of a traffic collision on Hwy 395, south of Air Expressway Boulevard.
Deputy Munar was the first deputy to arrive and found three vehicles were involved. A 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was on fire and two occupants were trapped inside. Deputy Munar was able to pull the passenger out through the passenger side window. The passenger was flown to a local hospital in critical condition. Deputy Sulikhanyan, and several citizens, pulled the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu out of the vehicle.
The drivers of both vehicles succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The driver of a 2018 Nissan Rogue was not injured.
The Major Accident Investigation Team Deputies (MAIT) J. Guzman and L. Torres are conducting the investigation. Hwy 395 was shut down for several hours. No additional information is available at the time of this release.
