LUCERNE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A passenger killed when the car he was in crashed in Lucerne Valley was identified by the coroner’s office as 20-year-old Luamata ‘Maka’ Halaholo from West Covina.
The crash occurred on Thursday about 4:11pm February 1, 2024. The crash scene was on Highway 247 at Post Office Road. The two vehicles involved were a red Toyota Camry and a black unknown sedan.
Tragically, Halaholo, a male passenger in the black sedan, was found trapped and, despite efforts from Rescue workers, he succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision.
One person was extricated and transported by Mercy Air #2 at the scene to Antelope Medical Center unknown condition. One person was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
A GoFundMe has been setup to help cover the cost of Maka’s funeral and expenses for the Halaholo family.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
