One Person Airlifted after a Two Vehicle Crash on Hwy 138

LLANO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was airlifted after sustaining major injuries in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning on Highway 138. (Photo above is credit by Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Air Rescue)

The collision occurred at around 11:27am on Friday March 8, 2024 on Pearblossom Highway (Hwy 138) near Hwy 18.

CHP officials reported a white semi tractor trailer and a white Audi A Series sedan was involved in the collision. The Audi had driver side damage and wound up on the dirt shoulder of the highway. It was reported the driver of the Audi became trapped and needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

Paramedics responded and requested a medical helicopter to transport one person with major injuries to a hospital. Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Air Rescue 5 landed on scene and transported the driver to Antelope Valley Medical Center with major injuries.

Update the driver of the Audi was reported to be driving under the influence with alcohol and was arrested at the hospital.

The semi driver was not injured in the collision.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Antelope Valley Office.
