The horror discovery was first reported about 11:30am beneath the East Main Street bridge, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Ramon Duran.
CHP officers and San Bernardino County Coroner officials are continued work the scene on Wednesday afternoon and evening, prompting a SIG-Alert for the slow lane on southbound I-15 and the Main St onramp, Duran said. It was not clear how long the closure would remain in effect at this time.
The identity and the cause of death of the deceased is currently unknown and authorities did not say how long they thought the remains could have been there for.
No further details were available as the investigation remained in its early stages. We hope to have an update on Thursday.
