One Person Killed, Two Hospitalized in a Crash on Northbound I-15 Friday Night

VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person is killed after a roll-over crash into a bridge on northbound Interstate 15, and two people were airlifted to a trauma hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol. (Photo above is credit by Mindy Miller)

The collision occurred about 7:51pm on Friday April 5, 2024. The crash location was under the Stoddard Wells Road bridge on northbound I-15. CHP and firefighters from Victorville City Fire Department were called to the crash scene.

The vehicles involved was reported to be a silver pickup truck or a sedan with major damage.

The vehicle was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle striking one of the concrete pillars that are under the overpass of Stoddard Wells Rd. causing that vehicle to flip upside down and burst into flames.

One person a male reported on the CHP traffic log was partially ejected from the vehicle. When rescue crews arrived, they discovered two more people trapped inside the upside-down vehicle on fire.

Rescue crews requested two medical helicopters to transport the two victims to a local trauma center with serious injuries.

The two medical helicopters landed at two nearby hospitals. Reach Air Medical #13 and #43 airlifted both victims to Antelope Valley Medical Center.

The male adult that was partially ejected, did sustained fatal injuries at the scene. His identity will be withheld pending next of kin notification.

The roadway was reportedly wet prior to the crash.
