APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person killed and one person airlifted as the result of a T-bone crash on Highway 18 at Milpas Drive near Lucerne Valley Saturday morning. (Photo above is credit Bryndon Michener.)
California Highway Patrol and Apple Valley City Fire Department received calls of a two-vehicle crash. The crash was reported to be on Highway 18 at Milpas Drive. The collision happened at about 6:57am Saturday, May 25, 2024.
The vehicle involved in the collision were a silver Toyota Rav4 SUV and a white Dodge Ram pickup truck.
From the preliminary accident report they said the Dodge truck was traveling on eastbound Hwy 18 and the Toyota was traveling north on Milpas Dr. The driver of the Toyota looked to failure to stop at the stop sign, when both drivers collided at the intersection.
The collision causes the Dodge had front-end damage to overturned and landed on its roof. The Toyota had major driver side damage.
When first responders arrived on scene, they pronounced one person in the Toyota deceased at the scene. The other person in the Toyota was transported by Mercy Air #22 helicopter from the scene to Antelope Valley Medical Center. The occupants in the Dodge were reported to have minor injuries.
The road was closed for about four hours for the investigation and the removal of the vehicles.
