ATV Quad crash Killed the Rider on Hwy 138 in Phelan Friday Afternoon

PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> An all-terrain vehicle and a SUV crash on Highway 138 left one person dead on Friday morning. (Photo above is credit by John Brown)

The crash occurred about 12:56pm on Friday June 7. The crash location was on Hwy 138 about one and a half miles away from Interstate 15 on the Phelan side. The two vehicles involved were a white unknown SUV and a quad.

The ATV driver looks to failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle traveling on Highway 138. Both vehicles made contact sending the SUV off the highway and the quad upside down. The rider was then thrown from the quad landed onto the ground.

San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters arrive on scene and they requested an ambulance to transport the rider. The rider was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious head injuries.

With rescue personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the rider died from injuries sustained in the crash at the hospital.

The Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
