Motorcycle rider airlifted from Summit Valley Rd after a crash

HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A man was airlifted for hospital care after hitting his head during a crash while riding a dirt bike motorcycle on the shoulder of Summit Valley Road. Photo above is credit by Marlene Estrada Munoz)

Deputies with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol. responded to an area of a sharp turn on Summit Valley Rd. of an incident involving an orange motorcycle down and a rider missing from the bike approximately 2:29pm on June 23, 2024, according to CHP Traffic Log.

CHP dispatch that he was riding his dirt bike on the shoulder when he lost control, of the motorcycle and struck his head.

Firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department rendered aid to the injured motorcyclist. They requested a helicopter to transport the rider with a shoulder and head injuries. The rider was transported first by a ground ambulance to Hesperia Airport. Where a waiting helicopter Mercy Air #2 airlifted the rider to Arrowhead Medical Center in Colton.

The cause of this crash is unknown at this time.
