The “Cahuilla Fire” was first reported at around 2:41pm. At Cahuilla Road and Keator Road in Apple Valley.

By 3:45pm. Saturday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department requested the start of evacuations for areas south of Cahuilla Road, west of Laguna Seca Drive, north of Keator Road and east of Joshua Road. Apple Valley Fire Department called for more resources to help.
By 4:30pm, the forward rate had stopped at around 75 acres burned, with firefighters seen protecting homes and structures.
During that time, evacuations were reduced to a warning, authorities said.
“Firefighters worked the evening and overnight to strengthening containment lines,” officials said. “As firefighters work to extinguish all hot spot.
Several additional fire agencies were on scene to help were Rialto City Fire Department, San Bernardino County Fire, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
