Severe Thunderstorms hit the Barstow area, Knocking Over Big Rigs on Interstate 15

YERMO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Powerful thunderstorms and winds created dangerous driving conditions in parts of Interstate 15 Saturday afternoon.

A Pain In The Pass member show multiple semis tipped over on I-15 near Minneola Road exit, which is located in Yermo. The trucks are blown over on a stretch of I-15 that was hit by a severe pop-up thunderstorm Saturday afternoon.

The heavy rain, hail, and strong gusty winds (at least 60 mph) were associated with this severe thunderstorm, this happened just before 1:30pm. The Weather Service said the storm was moving in the northeast direction.

All three semi tractor-trailers that were blowen over on the right shoulder of southbound Interstate 15, leaving each driver in need of rescue. CHP said minor injuries were reported, but no one was seriously hurt.
