Four Dead after Crash on I-15 near the Town of Baker

BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> An investigation is continuing on Saturday afternoon into a fatal two vehicle crash on Interstate 15 that left four person dead.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving an unknown vehicle and a black SUV upside down in the center divider. The incident took place at about 4:30pm on October 13, 2024. The location of the crash was about 2 miles away from Halloran Summit Road exit.

For reasons still under investigation, the black SUV lost control and rolled over multiple times into the center divider, landing on the roof in a ditch called Kale Ditch about 25 to 30 feet down of the freeway.

When rescue crews arrived, they called for multiple medical helicopters to the scene. They said four people were trapped inside. Firefighters rendered aid to everybody inside. Sadly, everybody succumbed to their injuries sustained in the collision.

No injuries were reported on the other vehicle.

The identity of the four is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
