Wind Advisory for the High Desert Area and Mountains Area on Friday

HIGH DESERT, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A Wind Advisory for Friday through Saturday morning. A Gusty Wind Event is for the mountains, Victor/Apple Valley, Lucerne Valley, and the Mojave Desert locations.

A weather system is going to sweep through Southern California on Friday. Gusty winds are expected with the weather system.

Southern California Weather Force has issued a Wind Advisory for the high desert. With winds blowing around 30-40 mph in the Victor/Apple Valley area. Parts of the Barstow area will have 35-45 mph winds. Lucerne Valley area will have 35-45 mph winds. Mountains will have gust 30 to 40+ mph. Max wind gust will be 50 mph.

Wind intensity level map below (8 is the strongest gust 80+ mph to a 1 is weak at 10 mph.)

Potential for hazardous crosswinds and blowing dust on Interstate 15 from the top of the Cajon Pass through Stateline NV as well as other area roadways.

Also secure all outdoor stuff like your patio chairs and that BBQ.

The Wind Advisory should expire by Saturday morning.
