The incident happened shortly after 10am on November 30, 2024, on eastbound Hwy 138, a short distance from Interstate 15. It involved a blue semi-truck hauling a white single box trailer.

San Bernardino National Forest and San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene to find the rear portion of the trailer fully engulfed in flames.

Shortly after arriving, San Bernardino National Forest fire crews were able to extinguish the flames. They spent the next 30 minutes or so soaking the back of the trailer, undercarriage and wheels with water.

No injuries were reported. Although the trailer itself was destroyed, the semi-truck did not appear to be damaged.
