SAN BERNARDINO, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) has announced that beginning Monday, December 2 through Friday, December 6 between 9pm and 6am**, the I-215 University Parkway southbound on- and off-ramps are scheduled to be closed.
There will also be intermittent lane closures 9-on University Parkway between the on- and off-ramps. Crews will perform temporary striping on the I-215 University on- and off-ramps.
The recommended detour routes are shown in green and orange on the map below.
The I-215/University Parkway Interchange project is designed to reduce delays and improve freeway access. The project will construct a diverging diamond interchange (DDI) which promotes safety, decreases congestion, and minimizes the cost of new infrastructure. During construction activities, intermittent lane closures and ramp closures will be necessary. See Map Below
Workers and heavy equipment will be present throughout the project corridor, and SBCTA asks that you allow for extra time to reach your destination as you may experience delays.
**Times can subject to change and could go longer or start earlier. On and off ramps may be subject to closure. Please use caution and remember to reduce your speed when approaching and driving through the construction zones. Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or construction issues.
The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority will start on a $25.77 Million dollar to decrease congestion and improve freeway access to I-215 and University Parkway in the city of San Bernardino.
The project is expected to be complete December 2025.
