NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person died in their vehicle on southbound Interstate 15 near Cheyenne Avenue and Craig Road exits Sunday morning after they were shot by someone in their vehicle.
North Las Vegas Police Department said after the preliminary investigation, they provided additional details on the investigation. They said upon arrival; officers located a deceased adult male inside a white Dodge Ram pickup truck with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers closed southbound I-15 freeway around 7am from the investigation.
During their preliminary investigation, police said they learned the victim and the suspect were both inside the vehicle together when the suspect shot him. Police said the suspect then contacted police after the shooting.
The suspect, 28-year-old Joseph De Luna, was arrested for open murder with a deadly weapon (which is a combination of First- and Second-Degree Murder).
Police said De Luna was booked into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center.
“Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses,” a NLVPD spokesperson wrote in a statement.
