PINION HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Highway Patrol are investigating a hit-and-run collision on Highway 138 in Pinion Hills that killed a male pedestrian, CHP officials said Tuesday.
CHP officers responded about 12:20am Tuesday April 8, 2025, on Hwy 138 near Oasis Road regarding the fatal pedestrian collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking westbound in the westbound lane, when a car struck him and fled the scene, said CHP.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by San Bernardino County Fire Department paramedics.
Investigators believe the suspect was driving a silver 2006-2008 Toyota Prius sedan. The vehicle should have heavy damage to the front-end and to the right side. Pieces of the car was left at the scene.
CHP officials are urging anyone who may have information about the crash or the identity of the driver to contact Officer X. Rodriguez at the CHP Victorville Area office by calling (760) 241-1186.
