SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The USDA Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and other federal wildland fire agencies will conduct annual training for Modular Airborne Firefighting Systems (MAFFS) personnel at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station in Port Hueneme, California, from Wednesday April 23-Saturday April 26. Start times is around 10am-5pm.
As part of the training in Southern California, practice water drops will be conducted in the remote areas of the Angeles National Forest. Residents and visitors may see one or up to four low-flying C-130 aircraft and several smaller lead planes flying low in the mountains throughout the week.
