Pedestrian Struck By A Semi, Seriously Injured On Southbound I-15 On Fontana

FONTANA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pedestrian was seriously injured Friday night after being hit by a semi. 

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the incident of a vehicle versus a pedestrian that was reported about 9:43 pm on Friday July 23, 2021. According from the CHP traffic log the pedestrian for unknown reasons was walking in the #3 lane just after the construction zone that was coned off on southbound 15 side from Glen Helen Parkway to Sierra Avenue. Seconds later the pedestrian was hit in the #3 lane just after Sierra Ave onramp, by a semi that did stop and pull over to the shoulder.

The pedestrian was transported by AMR ambulance to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana with seriously injuries and was breathing on his own, stated on the CHP traffic log. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland San Bernardino office. Anyone witness or have information regarding the incident is asked to call CHP at (909) 806-2400. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
